Suggested Scriptural references ...

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.  He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.  Psalm 1:1-3

May integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait for You.  Psalm 25:21

Suggested prayers ...

Creator of us all, rekindle in us an understanding of the difference between right and wrong, good and evil in America.  Lead us, O God, in Your ways of thinking, saying and doing the right thing.

We ask that ethics, honor, integrity, morality, goodness, wholesomeness, fidelity, character, respect and manners gain prominence as virtues in our land.

We ask that You foil all efforts to re-define ethics apart from You and Your truth.

We ask for the widespread teaching of ethics in our homes and educational institutions ~ not for the purpose of staying out of trouble, but for the ethical value of doing the right thing by You.

We ask for leaders of impeccable ethical character and conduct.

“Almighty God, as we stand here at this moment... Give us, we pray, the power to discern clearly right from wrong and allow all our words and actions to be governed thereby and by the laws of the land. Especially we pray that our concern shall be for all the people regardless of station, race, or calling...so that all may work for the good of our beloved country and Thy glory. Amen.”

President Dwight Eisenhower – January 20, 1953

“To the distinguished character of patriot, it should be our highest glory to laud the more distinguished character of Christian.”

General George Washington – May 2, 1778 – Valley Forge
